Sustainability account
A 10% of each and every economic income for our project is allocated in a second bank account for sustainability, that generates interests. We are committed to a sustainable approach to restoration, and these funds will be exclusively used for maintenance of the interiors of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Riobamba, in the long term: they shall not be used for any other purpose, except for emergency cases deemed as such by the “Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability”. This bank account also belongs to the Society of Jesus Ecuador, and it is also managed by the “Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability”.

Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability
For the administration of funds and accountability, and to offer support for different fundraising activities, we have established the “Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability”, with five members: 1. A representative of the Society of Jesus, Ecuador. 2. A representative of former students of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri, Riobamba, Ecuador. 3. A representative from among current teachers or administration workers of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri, with formal institutional support. 4. A treasurer, accounts administrator -a current worker of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri, or a member of an institution close to the fundraising project, or a former student- responsible for accounts management, and to communicate information for accountability -including a weekly update of details about current accounts balance, deposits, credits, expenditures, and debits in the page “Transparency” of the website. 5. The spokesperson of the GDVA group, or a member or representative of the board of directors of GDVA Foundation, Inc.
Among their basic duties: the first member has the role of Representative of the Society of Jesus, Ecuador and is the President of the Commission; member 2 (a former student of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri) and member 3 (a current teacher or a member of administrative staff of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri) have a special assignment: to coordinate and lead some activities that might require personal participation of other members of San Felipe Neri, such as current students; the fourth member of the Commission is the treasurer and accounts administrator, and is responsible for communication of accountability information - including a weekly update of details about current accounts balance, deposits, credits, expenditures, and debits in the current page (“Transparency”) of the website; the fifth member is the representative of GDVA Foundation, Inc. and is the Secretary of the Commission, and the General Supervisor of the Funds Collection Project to guarantee that objectives are met according to the guidelines and principles of transparency and participation ethics enforced by GDVA Foundation, Inc.
Especial Function
The Commission has the especial responsibility of providing support to initiatives of fundraising activities brought by alumni of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri, as well as institutional support and coordination to initiatives to obtain funds from either public, or private, national, or international institutions. The work of all members of the commission is voluntary, without any economic retribution. The members of the commission will be appointed for 2 years, and after such term they could be reelected, or replaced by new appointees, according to Internal Regulations, approved by the first appointed commission.
Immediate Notifications of Accounts Management
Although the fourth member of the Commission (treasurer, accounts administrator) has access to all the necessary information for account management -including details for online banking and debit cards- and he/she has the concrete responsibility and trust to perform such transactions, every member of the Commission has duly rights to receive information and immediate notifications about accounts management and about all transactions being performed on the bank accounts of the project, authorize or deny any transaction after consultation with the other members of the Commission, meet and make decisions together with them to take necessary actions, ask the President or Secretary to organize meetings if necessary, ask for information, and act in an immediate manner after agreement.
Participation Ethics
Each alumnus, or alumna of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri is a dynamic agent, who acts freely and voluntarily with the support and in coordination with the “Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability”, thus the Society of Jesus, GDVA Foundation, Inc., San Felipe Neri, as well as alumni from all year classes, and without receiving any economic remuneration or incentives to achieve the following goals: 1. Disseminate and raise awareness about the project among other former students of Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri. 2. Provide direct financial contributions individually and/or achieve that their contacts with other people or institutions -either public, or private, national, or international- also provide financial contributions. 3. Personally contribute with the different activities of the project (thus, add up with personal involvement).
All participations are free, voluntary, and without any remuneration, without seeking private benefit or self-promotion. No person shall be entitled to any payments or compensations, either in full or as a percentage of any amount of allocated funds, either from direct contributions, or from contributions obtained through them from third parties (such as their contacts with other donors). No economic contribution, either directly done by any person or obtained through them -after contact- from third parties shall be allocated in private accounts, but directly and exclusively to the bank account open by the Society of Jesus, Ecuador, for the specific purpose of fundraising for the internal restoration of La Basílica, and managed by the “Commission for Administration, Activities, and Accountability”. Every contact, third party, or prospective donor, should be redirected to the website of the project -the current website, where all necessary details for transfers and donations are currently available in the English and Spanish languages. Every independent fundraising initiative is welcome in principle, but we all need to act in coordination, in an organized way, and always inform and raise awareness about the project among prospective donors, people and institutions. No person is allowed, have the permission, or should feel entitled to act on behalf of, or otherwise take the names of the Society of Jesus, Unidad Educativa San Felipe Neri, GDVA Foundation, Inc., or any of their members, or those of any other people or institutions close to the project without their explicit consents, and by no means to achieve personal or private purposes of any kind.
