Our Initiative
GDVA -“Grupo de Voluntarios”, or group of volunteers- was formed on 5 January 2022, after a casual visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Riobamba, Ecuador, by alumni of Colegio (nowadays Educational Unit) San Felipe Neri, located at the same city. We act without pursuing any economic benefits, or any private or personal interests, but inspired and guided by ethical principles reinforced during our years of education in San Felipe Neri, illuminated by a spirit of honesty, knowledge, gratitude, and commitment to serve, to preserve cultural heritage and for the benefit of people with attention to the children and youth -mainly from rural and low-income communities in Ecuador and Latin America.
